Welcome and alot of people her were new one time or another, but they got the hang of it in time. Mostly focused on the class they play, Anything you particularly like? Fighter, mage, rogue, archer or some other type?

I tend to enjoy playing characters who are some combination of support/control class.
I'm thinking I might try going with an Elven Ranger, just because I've always thought of Rangers as being one of the most versatile classes.

then there are druids who can shape-shift into animals, summon them, and even heal or get plants to fight with them.
There are control type wizards Illusionists who help allies and distract enemies. or Enchanters.
Bards who boost allies and cast spells. and play music, dance,
Cleric who heal and bolster allies, while smiting enemies in the name of their god. Or inflict damage upon enemies and sap their strength.

Melee: you' want str, wis, con, dex as your high stats strength being your main focus.
Dex Melee: you can also use dex as your fighting, using light and finesse weapons, though you may need to take a feat to allow dex to attack rolls, you'd want dex, wis, str, con as you main focus
Ranged: you'd want wis, dex, con as your high stats so you can hit a further distances.
(these are just suggestions you can pick choose how you want your stats placed.)

I'm fairly confident that I've got my character more-or-less finalised in terms of mechanics, so now all that's left is to find the game lore so I can extrapolate characterisation in accordance, and then locate an opening to insert my character into gameplay.

So sorry for the delay @kittykat096. Work and other things have been hectic for me. I have added you to the group for rogue players until you choose which party you'd like to join if you choose to. Currently, with what we talked about you being found in a dungeon in order to get into the story quickly, Emilia is also a rogue player so she (@Emilia Casterwill) can fill you in on what to do or what has happened so you be up to date.
